BIO

Hi! I’m Catherine! I knew from a very young age that I wanted to pursue a career in education. For me, each day as an educator brings new opportunities to build relationships with students, to experience learning in new and engaging ways, and to make a lasting impact on the lives of my students.

I studied at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and my Master’s degree in Elementary Education. Throughout my 13 years as an educator, I have taught students at the pre-k, 2nd grade, 4th grade, and 6th grade levels.

I recently stepped away from the classroom to spend more time with my two young children. It is truly incredible to have the opportunity to continue my passion for teaching with Study Buddies!

In my free time, I enjoy being with my family! You can often find me in the hockey rink cheering on my two little hockey players! I also enjoy reading, going to the beach, and baking. I currently live in Walpole with my husband and our two sons.

BIO

I’m Sam! From a young age, I knew I wanted a career working with children. While studying elementary education and political science at Simmons College, I worked as an after-school and substitute teacher. That small bit of teaching experience solidified my love for education.

Soon after, I received my Masters Degree in Elementary Education, also from Simmons College. Since then, I have taught many elementary grades in Massachusetts and Florida, most recently teaching fourth grade in Newton Public Schools for the past seven years.

After stepping away from the classroom to spend more time with my two young girls, I knew I still wanted to teach in some way! Tutoring has given me the opportunity to connect with students, help them in all academic areas and watch their excitement when we learn together. I love creating sessions that fit each individual, using hands-on materials, and incorporating students’ interests into each lesson plan.

In my free time, I love to walk my dogs, go on runs, and do crafts with my two girls. I currently live in Medfield, MA with my husband and my daughters.
